Who we are
The Butchers of Bilton Ltd, trading as The Butchers of Bilton, is responsible for personal information collected through butchersofbilton.co.uk. Contact us at 14 The Green, Bilton, Rugby CV22 7LY, orders@butchersofbilton.co.uk or 01788 814448.
Information we collect
When you order or contact us, we collect the information needed to handle your request, such as your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number, order details and messages. If you create an account, we also keep your account details. Our website also receives technical information such as your IP address, browser details and cookies needed for the basket, checkout, account access and site security. Card details are entered on Dojo’s hosted payment page; we receive payment status and transaction references rather than your full card number.
Why we use it
We use your details to take and deliver orders, arrange payment, contact you about your purchase and provide customer service. This is necessary to perform our contract with you or take steps you request before a purchase. We keep records needed for tax and accounting because we have a legal obligation to do so. We use limited technical information to operate and protect the website, based on our legitimate interest in running a secure shop. We do not use order details to send marketing emails unless you have separately opted in where consent is required.
Who receives it
Information needed to run the shop is processed by our website and hosting providers, WooCommerce and the payment provider Dojo. Delivery details are shared with people who prepare and deliver your order. We may share records with professional advisers or authorities where required by law. Dojo handles payment information under its own privacy notice.
Cookies
Essential cookies help keep items in your basket, support checkout and remember account sessions. You can change cookie settings in your browser, but blocking essential cookies may prevent checkout from working. If we add optional analytics or marketing cookies, we will explain them and request consent where required.
How long we keep information
We keep order and payment records for as long as needed for accounting, tax and legal obligations, and keep customer-service messages only while needed to resolve the matter and manage any related claim. Account information is kept while your account is active, subject to records we must retain by law. We review records and delete or anonymise them when no longer needed.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you can ask to access or correct your personal information, request deletion or restriction, object to some uses, or ask for a portable copy. You can withdraw consent where we rely on it. Contact us using the details above. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our handling of personal information changes. Last updated 26 September 2026.
